Shack by the Billabong
Original oil on board · Signed · Framed · From a private collection
A little shack sits at the centre of it all...iron roof, modest and unhurried, surrounded by water that mirrors the pale sky above. Ghost gums frame the scene on either side, their white trunks leaning in like quiet sentinels. You feel as though you’ve stumbled upon somewhere that doesn’t appear on any map.
Richly textured oil on board, the surface carries real depth, the kind that only comes from an original hand working with patience and feeling. The palette is warm and muted: dusty golds, sage, soft ochre, the silvery shimmer of still water. Quintessentially Australian, and quietly extraordinary.
The artist’s signature rests in the lower corner: faded, unhurried and not quite legible. A small mystery that only adds to the charm.
From a private collection in Canberra, where it was well loved and well kept. Arrives ready to hang in a warm timber frame with cream inner slip.
