JOCELYN'S BIO

Poet. Lover of the Land. Country Soul.

Joss calls the Central West of NSW home; a place of wide skies, open plains and the quiet strength of rural life. Surrounded by horses, cattle, chooks, sheep and the land she loves, it's this profound connection to agriculture and the Australian landscape that flows through everything she creates.

A poet of depth and feeling, Joss was awarded the prestigious A.B. Paterson Bush Poetry Award at the 2026 Sydney Royal Easter Show and also the Ekka Royal Queensland Show Bush Poetry Virtual Award.  Joss also has a passion for creating metal sculptures, her work will be featured at this year's Creative Streets Festival in Armidale.  Jocelyn's work reaches into the heart of country life, exploring the beauty, the hardship and the enduring spirit of the land and its people.

Beyond her writing, Joss is equally devoted to the traditions of rural Australia. She recently claimed 1st place in NSW for Merino Fleece in Young Judges, a proud reflection of her deep respect for the land and its craft. She is also the 2026 recipient of the Rob Talbot Award in Merino Sheep and Fleece.

When she's not writing or sculpting, Joss can be found on horseback or on the touch football field; a life lived fully, and felt deeply.
